2.5 Minute Ride is an autobiographical one woman show in which Lisa Kron explores her understanding of herself and her family as she gathers images and stories for the video she is making in honor of her father. In the piece, Lisa discusses and portrays her family's annual trek to Cedar Point, her brother's wedding, and her trip with her father to visit Auschwitz, the camp in which his parents were killed. The piece is humorous and familiar yet at times heavy and poignant, and sometimes all of the above. In our production we aimed to highlight the warmth of the piece, inviting the audience to take comfort in the memories that Lisa shares with them.
